Started in 1990, still on the same site
P&J Tuning began as one person working on friends' cars at weekends. Word spread, the unit got bigger and the tools got better, but the way we work has not changed. Every car gets looked at before it gets touched, and every file is written for that vehicle.
Today we look after everything from daily runabouts and high mileage diesels to modified cars and small van fleets, for customers across Maldon, Latchingdon, Chelmsford. A lot of them are on their second or third vehicle with us, which is the only figure we really care about.

Good tools do not make a good tuner, but bad tools stop one. Here is what sits on the bench and what it means for the car you drop off.
- Dealer level diagnosticsManufacturer level coverage across most European and Japanese makes, so we can read what the car is really doing.
- Bench and boot toolsOBD where it is supported, bench or boot read where it is not, with the right adapters rather than a workaround.
- Road and rolling road dataLogs taken in gear under load, so the file is judged on real numbers instead of how it feels on the way back.

One garage for the whole fleet
Most places that map cars will not touch a truck, and most truck places do not map. We do both, from the same unit, with a brake testing facility on site. For an operator that means one phone call instead of three.
